Addiction Treatment Services Team Supervisor - COMCARE

Work Schedule: M - F, 8a - 5p some varied hours 


Work as part of a team providing addiction treatment services and pre-admission assessments to meet the needs of members of the community who are in need of substance use treatment. This includes performing clinical assessments for individuals who are referred by the court for mandatory treatment. In addition, completion of intake, follow-up, and outreach appointments, as well as providing training as needed is required. Pre-admission assessments entail evaluating for appropriate level of care. Support suicide prevention efforts in the community while upholding the mission and vision of COMCARE of Sedgwick County. Provide supervision, coaching and support for ATS Licensed Addiction Counselors.


Service Provision

  • Complete substance use assessments for appropriate level of care.
  • Provide individual and group therapy to address the immediate mental health and substance use needs of clients.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Intake/assessments.
  • Initiates outreach to increase engagement.



  • Complete progress notes in accordance with COMCARE guidelines.
  • Complete Notes for Record, precautions, authorization for release of records, releases of information, safety documents and other documentation as required.
  • Completes call logs to ensure important information is available to other providers.
  • Assessment tools are to be accurate and completed within the timeframe established for the particular screen.
  • Monitor treatment plans and update within the required timeframe.
  • Respond to Utilization Review staff feedback forms and make corrections as needed.
  • Enter AIMS data as needed.
  • Completes court reports or treatment summaries within required timelines as set by the entity requesting these documents.


Provide supervision and coaching to addiction counselors

  • Train staff in job requirements in collaboration with designated trainers; ensure training checklists are completed in a timely manner.
  • Provide regular, scheduled individual and/or group supervision.
  • Document coaching/supervision to support quality and performance improvement.
  • Promote professional development and problem-solving skill development for crisis workers.
  • Collaborate with program manager in performance improvement and disciplinary action.
  • Regularly review supervisee documentation and provide feedback/coaching to ensure appropriate procedure codes are selected and that documentation meets agency standards.
  • Provide feedback and coaching to ensure that documentation is completed in a timely manner within agency requirements.


Minimum Qualifications: Master’s Degree or higher. One to two years of demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience. Must be licensed by the Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board as an LAC in addition to an LMSW, LMFT, LMLP, LPC, or LP. Must have a valid Kansas Driver’s license and current proof of automobile insurance. Meet the specifications as outlined in the CMHC licensing standards and pass KBI, DCF child abuse check, adult abuse registry, and motor vehicle screens. Must be able to safely operate a motor vehicle and meet driver qualification standards as set forth in Sedgwick County’s Fleet Vehicle Operation and Usage policy. Must complete orientations provided by Sedgwick County and COMCARE.


Preferred Qualifications: Master’s Degree or higher. Minimum of five years of supervisory experience. May be clinically licensed by the Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board as an LCAC in addition to an LCP or LCPC, LCMFT, or LSCSW.
