This position supports the administrative needs in the Detention Division. The majority of this position involves scanning jail files into electronic recordkeeping systems. Other duties include customer service over the phone and in person, completing paperwork, and other administrative requests. This position is exposed to potentially hostile or emotionally charged customers.



  • After inmate release, receive all information in inmate files and arrange based on release date
  • Sort files based on kind of charge, length of stay, and other additional information
  • Scan files into electric detention recordkeeping system
  • Sort additional information that is added after scanning, and add it to the previously scanned files
  • Scan letters to and from inmates into electronic systems to be sent to the correct recipient


Administrative and Customer Service Duties

  • Answer phones for the Detention division, answer questions for customers, or direct them to the correct representative
  • Sort mail to and from inmates, and prepare for scanning
  • Answer electronic inmate request forms for clerical needs including addresses and questions or issues with mail


Oversee Lobby Visitation

  • Assist visitors to access the electronic video calls with inmates
  • Provide troubleshooting assistance for issues at the start or during calls


Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent. One year of experience in customer service or an administrative setting. Must pass pre-employment testing of typing 45 words per minute, and 80% reading comprehension to be completed before interview.


Preferred Qualifications: One year of experience in a law enforcement agency. One year of experience using Microsoft Suite. Prior experience using electronic filing systems.
