Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  


This position assists and supervises the administration of the Orion CAMA system. It also assists with the coordination of the Aumentum tax system by developing and administering relational databases and minor applications for departmental use and departmental security administration. Performs appraisal related functions and in-house technical support assistance so the Appraiser’s Office can fairly and equitably produce an annual appraisal roll to fund quality public services in our community.


  • Oversee the operations, implementation and policies of the appraisal system, tax system, secondary applications, reports, and technologies used by the Appraiser’s Office.
  • Perform appraisals and related activities for the Appraiser’s Office.
  • Manage various reports for various departments, property types, and processes.  Develop, manage, and process data queries and reports for PVD substantial compliance.


Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent. Five (5) years of real property mass appraisal experience and any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Successfully passed the Kansas State Eligibility Exam for County Appraisers, International Association of Assessing Officers (IAAO) Course 101 – Fundamentals of Real Property Appraisal, Course 102 – Income Approach to Valuation, and Course 300 – Fundamentals of Mass Appraisal, or the ability to successfully complete these within two years of hire date. Must have a vehicle registered in the State of Kansas to use on a daily basis. Must provide proof of valid vehicle insurance with current coverage in the State of Kansas. Must have a current valid non-restricted Kansas driver’s license.


Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in computer technology or related. Two (2) to three (3) years of experience or training in the use of personal computers including computer-based products or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, abilities and competencies. Knowledge of relational database concepts. Hold a professional designation from the International Association of Assessing Officers (IAAO), and/or the Register Mass Appraiser (RMA) Designation, from the Kansas Department of Revenue, Division of Property Valuation.
