This forward facing position interacts with the public on a daily basis by phone, email and in person to quickly provide information and customer service. When not working directly with the public, this position verifies, maintains and updates election related databases and records through data analysis, processing and entry.

 

Accurately Maintain the Voter Registration List:

  • Maintain Voter registration entry and verification
  • Process agency submitted registration files
  • Cross-check and proof team entries
  • Search for duplicates
  • Check obituary/death notices
  • Prepare voter correspondence
  • Process change of address documents
  • Maintain street files
  • Participate in annexation and redistricting projects as needed

 

Carry out Advanced Voting Needs

  • Process, review, and fulfill advance by mail and UOCAVA ballot requests
  • Maintain single and permanent advance voter lists
  • Keep data regarding outreach attempts
  • Create and maintain advance voting reports and records

 

Provide Consistent and Prompt Customer Service:

  • Treat every voter, candidate, and guest in a courteous and professional manner
  • Provide information regarding voter registration
  • Facilitate candidate filing, report filing, data requests, and other common election office services
  • Accept payments for candidate filings or data requests
  • Answer phones, respond to emails, and provide information and services in person
  • Drive to voting locations to assist during election periods

 

Minimum Qualifications: High school Diploma or equivalent. Two years of experience in a fast-paced office environment with a substantial amount of data entry/processing. At least one year of experience in a public facing or customer service role (either in person or by phone). Per Sedgwick County policy, this is a driving level position that requires a valid Kansas driver’s license without restrictions and current proof of automobile insurance. Ability to type 50 WPM.  Must be free of Federal or State felony conviction as well as any misdemeanors relating to breach of trust, fraud, embezzlement, or dishonesty in carrying out a responsibility involving public trust. Ability to obtain a Notary Public.  Cyber Security Training within the first 30 days of employment. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of products.

 

Preferred Qualifications: Associates Degree in Business or a related field. Four years of experience in a fast-paced office environment with a substantial amount of data entry/processing. At least two years of experience in a public facing or customer service role (in person or by phone).
