Management Analyst I COVID-19

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm 

 

This temporary position is in the Sedgwick County Health Department for COVID-19 response. The position analyzes COVID-19 data and prepares information for communication to internal Health Department staff, County Leadership, external health partners, and the public. Consultation and collaboration with Health Department staff is required. The position will perform data entry, descriptive data analysis, and more advanced analyses under guidance from supervisor. The position follows data cleaning procedures, writes written reports, and collects data and creates surveys as needed with guidance from supervisor.

 

Collect and manage COVID-19 related data

  • Perform data entry
  • Collect and organize Health COVID-19 Response data
  • As needed, create surveys and collect available data outside of Health

 

Analyze COVID-19 related data and prepare information for distribution

  • Perform descriptive and more advanced data analyses
  • Create and interpret graphs and other visualizations of the data
  • Assist in maintaining data dashboard and developing ArcGIS StoryMap

 

Educate and collaborate in controlling the spread of disease

  • Assist in planning and implementing studies and interventions to reduce the spread of disease.
  • Create and communicate preparedness messages and the work of SCHD to medical professionals, community partners, and the public by giving presentations and writing educational documents.
  • Create written messages in during a public health emergency using risk communications strategies.

 

Minimum Qualifications:  Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in public health, data analytics, information technology, or related field with data analysis coursework. At least one year experience with data management and analysis. Two years of experience with Microsoft Excel. Strong communication, interpersonal, problem-solving and computer skills are required. 

 

Preferred Qualifications:  Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in public health, data analytics, information technology, or related field with data analysis and data management coursework. Coursework in epidemiology. One year of work experience in a public health department or healthcare setting. Two years of work experience with data management and data analysis; experience with SAS, SPSS or other database software. One year of experience with Esri ArcGIS mapping software. One year of experience or coursework in infectious diseases.
