Prepares, maintains, and balances financial transaction in areas such as accounts payable, grant funding, and local mill levy funding. Submits grant reports to government entities on a monthly basis. Ensures accurate accounting of expenditures with the various fund centers and grants.
Prepare and enter all payments for goods and services into the accounting system.
- Enter information into the accounting system for Purchase Order (PO) creation.
- Monitor PO’s and submit adjustment or closure requests when needed.
- Submits invoices with accurate and complete documentation to Accounts Payable (AP) in a timely manner.
- Keeps track of payments being submitted to AP for timely payment to vendors.
- Check grant invoices to ensure they match data entered into state reporting system.
Make requests for new vendor set-up when required, and keep list of active vendors. Maintains and analyzes expenditures to ensure there is enough budget authority for the budget year and that vendors do not exceed contract amounts.
- Maintains an accurate record of expenditures for the different fund centers.
- Ensures there is enough fund balance to meet anticipated expenditures throughout the calendar year.
- Requests release of additional budget authority to ensure invoices are processed in a timely manner.
- Create vendor templates for reporting monthly activity and expenses.
Prepare and submit all required monthly financial reports to Kansas Department for Aging and Disability Services (KDADS).
- Prepares and submits financial reports using excel workbooks or web-based reporting systems.
- Data enter in the KDADS web-based reporting system for the Senior Care Act (SCA) and Older Americans Act (OAA) programs.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting, Finance, or other related field. One year of experience in accounting, financial administration with experience working with multiple funding sources and reporting requirements, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting or Finance. Experience working with government budget/finance administration with experience working with multiple funding sources and reporting requirements.
