Serves as tag office supervisor in the absence of the Tag Supervisor. Assists Tag Office Supervisor in overseeing the daily operation of an assigned location. Troubleshoots problems or complex auto registrations; works with the public to resolve issues. Processes annual renewals, auto registrations, requests for specialized auto plates, and placards. When assigned roving duties, rotates behind line clerks, staying available to answer questions and providing technical support to clerk staff. May be required to close the office at end of day during supervisor staffing shortages to meet the needs of the department.
Knowledge of the auto registration process and Kansas Statutes regarding the titling of vehicles in the State of Kansas.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and the public.
- Answer questions clerks may have concerning title and registration transactions.
- Assist clerks by troubleshooting customer issues that may occur during their visit, including assisting with and resolving complex or escalated issues from staff.
- Provide quick and efficient service to customers to meet departments KPI’s.
Process all types of vehicle registration and title transactions authorized by the State of Kansas and Sedgwick County.
- Handle the legal transfer of titles, ensuring all documents are accurate and complete.
- Register new and used vehicles
- Prepare and submit tax and title documents for KDOR
- Collect property and sales tax
- Ensure compliance with KDOR and Sedgwick County Treasurers policies and procedures
Responsible for balancing all funds.
- Balance received cash, checks, and credit cards
- Maintain issued Imprest Funds
- Prepare daily paperwork for bookkeeping, balances total cash.
- Assist individual clerks with their closing and balancing process at the end of their shift.
- When closing, ensure all monies are locked in safe and sets alarm at the end of the day.
Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Six months of Title and Registration experience.
Preferred Qualifications: One year of Title and Registration experience. One year of supervisory experience.
