Batterer Intervention Liaison

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm 

 

Responsible for management of the Batterer Intervention Program (BIP), cognitive skills programming and quality assurance. Performs liaison duties with stakeholders. Utilizes methods set by state law to manage BIP, facilitating groups and therapy for those convicted of or victims of domestic violence.

 

Program Management - Manage case referrals, ensure completion of BIP assessment & BIP services. Act as a liaison with stakeholders including KDOC, KS Atty. General’s Office, WPD & others. Participate in case reviews; provide input on service plans based on client needs. Collect & analyze program data, measure performance/outcomes & prepare reports. Review & address procedural problems; behavior of clients & transition of clients to other services. Meet with management team to review programming matters; review policies/procedures.

 

Quality Assurance - Supervise ISO III responsible for oversight of Cognitive Skills and BIP staff. Complete quality assurance analysis of programs & incorporate recommendations into review process. Ensure adherence to program fidelity & state requirements/standards & assist in developing & implementing policies/procedures. Establish & maintain professional & timely information sharing/collaboration. Maintain positive & effective working relationships across all levels of contact & influence.

 

Clinical Service - Assess individuals prior to accepting them into the BIP; be trained on & use with fidelity the KS Domestic Violence Offender Assessment (KDVOA) to make this determination. Complete quality assurance audits on documentation of service delivery and client progress. Complete ongoing assessments of participant needs & level of services. Ensure quality treatment plans in collaboration with client in accordance to KDVOA. Address updates & progress on goals at treatment plan reviews. Complete court reports or treatment summaries within required timelines.

 

Minimum Qualifications: Master’s Degree. Two years’ experience in domestic violence services. Must be licensed by the Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board as an LMSW, LMFT, LMLP, LPC or LP. Must attain BIP certification per the KS Attorney General’s Standards for BIP Program Supervisors & Assessors. Valid Driver’s License that meets the requirement of Sedgwick County Fleet Vehicle Operation and Usage Policy. Personal vehicle (& proof of liability insurance) for use if county vehicle is unavailable (reimbursement provided by County). Pass legal background check, Child & Adult Abuse & Neglect Central Registry checks, KCJIS Security Policy (fingerprint) check, & pre-employment screen for alcohol & drugs; meet the required conditions contained in KSA 65-516 & KAR 28-4-356. Additionally for this position, the clinician hired shall not be: 1. A batterer of domestic violence or abuse; unless the program director is satisfied the candidate has successfully completed an intervention program & remained violence free. For primary facilitator they must be free from criminal convictions, diversions or similar agreements for the preceding 5 & co-facilitators for the preceding 2 years, & have a clear view of the program and expectations. The program must seek input from the candidate, victims, partners & intervention program completed. If input is not available attempts to obtain it must be documented. 2. A victim of domestic violence; unless the program director is satisfied the candidate has successfully dealt with issues related to the domestic violence. The candidate must be free of violence, battering relationships, relevant criminal convictions, & have a clear view of the program & expectations.

 

Preferred Qualifications: Clinical licensure by the Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board as an LCP or LCPC, LCMFT, or LSCSW.
