Pay:  $72,028.06 annually | This position may also be eligible for a sign on bonus of $5,000 after 60 days of employment if selected applicant meets all policy conditions.  

Work Schedule: Monday -Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm with one evening per week

Provides evaluation services to children and youth in the juvenile justice system.  May include providing goal-directed, client-centered, medically necessary individual and family therapy to children, youth, and their families, to enable them to improve the quality of life and ability to function more successfully in the community.  Computer documentation of all services in a timely manner is required.

 

Service Provision Therapy and Evaluation Services.

  • Individual therapy using identified and accepted methods to remediate symptoms of mental illness and/or improve emotional and functional well-being.
  • Intake/assessment to include history, presenting problems and diagnoses using DSM-V criteria.
  • Conduct risk assessments as needed to address safety of clients.
  • Psychological testing services as requested through juvenile court.
  • Sexual offender evaluations as requested through juvenile court.
  • Competency to Stand Trail evaluations as requested through juvenile court.
  • Complete all applicable reports and follow-up for testing services.

 

Tracking and Collaborative Duties.

  • Keeping a court evaluation tracker up to date.
  • Coordinating with COMCARE staff to open charts, assignments and coverage.
  • Communicating with appropriate staff for billing, and assuring to obtain vital information to complete evaluations such as the complaint, court order, and affidavits needed.

 

Documentation.

  • Complete progress notes in accordance with COMCARE and CCBHC guidelines which meet requirements for medical necessity, goal-directed therapy and client response to treatment within prescribed timelines.
  • Complete Notes for Record, Precautions statements and authorizations for release of records as required and/or recommended.
  • Enters no show and cancellations for accuracy and completeness of medical record.
  • Completes discharge summary when closing to therapy services.
  • Completes court reports or treatment summaries within required timelines as set by the entity requesting these documents.

 

Minimum Qualifications: Master’s Degree. Must be licensed by the Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board as an LMLP or LPC.  Must have a valid Kansas Driver’s license and current proof of automobile insurance. Must be able to safely operate a motor vehicle and meet driver qualification standards as set forth in Sedgwick County’s Fleet Vehicle Operation and Usage policy.  Meet the specifications as outlined in the CMHC/CCBHC licensing standards and pass KBI, SRS child abuse check, adult abuse registry, and motor vehicle screens.  Must complete orientations provided by Sedgwick County and COMCARE. 

 

Preferred Qualifications: Master’s Degree or higher. May be additionally licensed by the Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board as an LCP, LCPC, or PhD.
