Compensation & Classification Management Analyst

Pay:  $19.64 per hour  

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Remote work and flexible schedule options available.  

 

This position is the point of contact for all job description review, maintenance and archiving. Position works closely with departments to educate on correct formatting, language and minimum requirements to concisely convey position responsibilities, and ensuring we are not limiting the applicant pool with undue minimum requirements. Makes recommendations to Compensation Manager on FLSA status and grade placement.  Position is also responsible for completing salary survey requests, and initiating salary surveys on behalf of Sedgwick County.

 

Job Description Review and Education

  • Review new and updated job descriptions to ensure correct grade placement, FLSA status, appropriate minimum qualifications, and physical requirements.
  • Review, format, and update file for all job description changes submitted
  • Discuss changes with departments when necessary to gain a better understanding of the request
  • Archive inactive job descriptions
  • Educate departments on Adverse Impact and minimum requirements
  • Educate departments on writing job descriptions and organizing content
  • Create standard language for common responsibilities across the organization
  • Update job descriptions as needed due to Human Resource’s changes
  • Review all current job descriptions, work with departments to ensure they accurately reflect the duties of the position
  • Ensure we have a job description for each position

 

Salary Surveys

  • Respond to salary survey requests from vendors or outside organizations
  • Create salary survey requests on behalf of Sedgwick County
  • Summarize results of all salary survey’s and provide reports to the Compensation Manager
  • Provide backup to Compensation Analyst and Compensation Manager as needed
  • Assist with projects as needed
  • High level of communication with supervisor, coworkers and departments.
  • High level of confidentiality regarding all salary, job description and personnel matters.
  • Maintain positive relationships with departments and employees by being responsive to requests and encouraging questions and open communication.
  • Key member of Compensation team on large projects.
  • Key member of Compensation year end team assisting in various auditing and implementation processes.

 

Minimum Qualifications: Associate's degree from accredited college with extensive coursework in business administration. Related experience may be substituted for education. One year experience in Human Resources.

 

Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree with emphasis in Human Resource Management or related field. One year experience directly working with job descriptions or compensation. Human Resources Certification such as SHRM-CP, PHR, or IPMA-CP.
