Court Movement Coordinator

Work Schedule: 8-5 M-F 


Performs tasks associated with ensuring inmates are ready for transportation to assigned courts and other locations as required.

  • Ensures inmates are in designated holding cells ready for transportation to assigned locations.
  • Ensures inmates are prepared to arrive at desired destinations as scheduled.
  • Oversees overflow housing in designated holding cells.
  • Observes and controls inmate movement within assigned area.
  • Maintains security of assigned area by monitoring inmate’s behavior.
  • Monitors inmates’ behavior and attitudes for signs of personality changes, depression, and developing conflicts between inmates.
  • Conducts inmate head counts; monitors activities of all inmates in assigned area.
  • Ensures all inmates are accounted for in assigned area at all times, prevents inmate escapes.
  • Secures all security doors in assigned area.
  • Ensures cleanliness of area by supervising inmate workers and accounts for cleaning supplies used.
  • Keeps supervisor apprised of all matters of significance in assigned area.
  • Operates technical equipment, to include; computer, telephone and two-way radio.
  • Supervises meal delivery, pick-up and tray return; in assigned area.
  • Ensures inmates with special menus receive correct tray; notes inmates refusing meals.
  • Answers inmates’ questions
  • Utilizes self-defense and/or use of force, when necessary, when dealing with unruly inmates.
  • Prepares written reports on incidents occurring or when directed.
  • Prepares reports regarding operational problems such as defective equipment, suggestions for improving services or hazardous conditions.
  • Performs other work as required.
  • Attends training annually as required.


Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent. Successful completion of the applicant process and Civil Service certification. No record of criminal conviction, diversion, or expungement of any felony or crime of dishonesty, or the equivalent under the uniform code of military justice. Pass a Reading Comprehension test: 80% minimum. Pass a drug test.
