Data Entry Epidemiology Team Leader COVID-19

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm 

The Data Entry Epidemiology Team Leader is a temporary position in the Sedgwick County Health Department that supports the COVID-19 response. The Team Leader performs advanced clerical work, producing and distributing quarantine and isolation letters to clients; performing data entry of client information into case management systems; and calling clients with test results. The position coordinates staff schedules and communicates issues and trends to the supervisor. The Team Leader ensures accurate staff work, auditing processes and documents; ensures calls are responded to in a timely manner, auditing team member calls to ensure accurate information is provided with good customer service. Ensures patient confidentiality.

Perform accurate and timely data entry of client information into case management systems and call clients with test results

  • Create/update client information and accurately complete data entry
  • Audit data to verify information is correct and complete
  • Correct errors timely
  • Provide accurate and up-to-date information to clients through email or over the phone
  • Follow HIPAA policies
  • Perform data entry of surveys and other COVID-19 response work as assigned

 

Coordinate Data Entry Epidemiology Team

  • Coordinate staff schedules
  • Schedule meetings and appointments
  • Communicate issues and trends to supervisor
  • Perform audits of team member documentation to ensure accuracy and timeliness
  • Perform audits of team member calls to ensure accurate information is provided with good customer service
  • Answer client and staff questions as needed

 

Support Health Department COVID-19 Operations

  • As needed, assist with Medical Triage Line and Call Center
  • Assist in writing and updating forms, policies, and procedures
  • Ensure all forms and supplies are available to staff
  • Document team activities and submit daily report
  • Work to continuously improve processes

 

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in public health, business administration or other related field or be equivalently qualified by work experience or a combination of work experience and education, with one year of experience substituting for one year of education. One year of experience in varied office management of staff work in a public or private organization including experience in personnel management, budgeting or procurement or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

 

Preferred Qualifications: One year of managing call center staff. One year of work experience in a public health department or healthcare-related field. One year of data management experience.
