Diversion Coordinator - DISTRICT ATTORNEY

Performs case management functions for the adult diversion program within the Office of the District Attorney. Interviews and assesses defendants for appropriateness and ensures client’s compliance with program requirements.

 

Process diversion applications

  • Review applications for client eligibility
  • Conduct criminal background check on applicants
  • Conduct interviews with applicants
  • Prepare written interview reports for the diversion committee

 

Supervise and Monitor diversion clients

  • Complete periodic background checks on all participants
  • Verify client compliance with community services
  • Address non-compliant behavior with graduated sanctions
  • Meet with clients as needed based on their risks and severity/type of offense
  • Advise diversion committee of serious non-compliance issues and make recommendations for revocation

 

Maintain electronic files

  • Enter relevant data and case notes into case management system
  • Ensure accuracy of case information in court and DA case management systems
  • Collect and track disbursement of costs, fees and restitution
  • E-File court documents

 

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Criminal Justice, Sociology, Psychology, or related field. Two years’ experience in criminal justice or case management or any combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Educational Requirement Substitution: A minimum of four years of related experience may be considered in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.

 

Preferred Qualifications: Two years of experience in prosecution office or probation or other field that provides knowledge of the criminal justice system and procedures. Bilingual Spanish
