Work Schedule: Monday- Friday 8:00am-5:00pm, Occasional Evenings and Weekends 

 

 

Promote the agency and programs offered to professionals, older adults, caregivers, people with disabilities, and the public through outreach activities and community presentations. Coordinate and facilitate the Aging Network meetings for aging and disability professionals in the community. Develop and coordinate relevant education programs to enhance outreach and community engagement by offering in-service trainings and educational presentations for community stakeholders.

 

Provide outreach presentations and attend community events to promote the agency and services for older adults, caregivers, and professionals.

  • Initiate and provide presentations to public and private groups.
  • Identify opportunities and participate in health fairs, information booths and other community events.
  • Network, develop, and maintain strong relationships with aging and disability professionals, community stakeholders, as well as community citizens to enhance marketing efforts.  
  • Maintain information, resources, brochures, and publications supporting CPAAA’s identified education focus.
  • Provide education, outreach, and volunteer recruitment support for the Senior Health Insurance Counselors of Kansas (SHICK) program.
  • Create and distribute an aging department newsletter with relevant information and program updates.
  • Document events and contacts in electronic management information system (MIS).

 

Research and develop educational workshops addressing community need, interest, and CPAAA educational emphasis.

  • Create engaging educational workshops, seminars, and in-service trainings for older adults, professionals, and community stakeholders, which are relevant and timely topics.
  • Explore and identify opportunities to reach targeted and underserved populations.
  • Document events and contacts in electronic management information system (MIS).

 

Coordinate and facilitate the Aging Network meetings for aging and disability professionals in the community.

  • Organize and facilitate monthly Aging Network meetings for both on-site and virtual participants.
  • Solicit input from Aging Network members and recruit presenters for relevant topics.
  • Maintain the Aging Network email list and send weekly email updates to Aging Network members.
  • Maintain oversight of CPAAA Aging Network social media platform(s).

 

Minimum Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent. Two years’ experience in education, marketing/outreach, or related field. Two years’ experience in human service with emphasis on working with adults 60+. One year of experience using presentation software to create presentations and facilitating presentations to stakeholders. Up to two years of experience may be substituted with education that provides applicable knowledge and skills. Per Sedgwick County Policy, this is a driving level position that requires a valid US driver’s license without restrictions and current proof of automobile insurance. Obtain and maintain SHICK Counselor Certification upon hire.

 

Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Gerontology, Human Services, Education, Communications, Marketing, Public Administration or a related field. One year experience in the field of aging or physical disabilities, preferably an Area Agency on Aging or Physical Disabilities provider system. AIRS, Information and Referral/Assistance Certification. Bilingual in English and a language other than English.
