Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM. 

 

 

Manages all support staff functions for the Department of Corrections (DOC).  Plans, directs and evaluates important aspects of support services, including personnel and office management.  Coordinates policy and procedural changes, auditing policies for compliance, identifying problems, researching solutions and presenting recommendations.  Participates in the production of reports, departmental records, statistical data reports, record imaging, and inventory control.  

 

Administrative Management  

  • Manage day-to-day support staff operations for the Department of Corrections.  
  • Interview and hire staff;
  • Plan and assign work, instruct in proper methods, and evaluate staff performance.   
  • Secure material and data for use in preparation of reports, grant applications, and presentations.  
  • Provide support to the executive and senior management teams.  
  • Drive to other locations to assist with department services.

 

Quality Assurance

  • Complete quality assurance checks, and develop, and review program statistics/reports for accuracy.
  • Conduct research on assigned subjects.
  • Monitor data entry of information in program databases and troubleshoot problems.

 

Compliance Management  

  • Assist staff in securing access to the county computer system and department record management systems.   
  • Manage inventory control and conduct internal audits to document the integrity of inventories.  
  • Manage all aspects of annual policy and procedure reviews/revisions across the Department of Corrections.

 

Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Three years of experience in administrative work or a related field. Up to two years of experience may be substituted with education that provides applicable knowledge and skills. Must be at least 21 years of age. Per Sedgwick County Policy, this is a driving level position that requires a valid US driver’s license without restrictions and current proof of automobile insurance. Personal passenger vehicle for use when county vehicle is not available (employee reimbursement is provided by County).  Pass legal background check, Child and Adult Abuse & Neglect Central Registry checks, KCJIS Security Policy (fingerprint) check, and pre-employment screens. Must also meet the required conditions contained in KSA 65-516 and KAR 28-4-356.

 

Preferred Qualifications: Three years of experience working in the Corrections, Criminal Justice, or Legal field. Bachelor’s degree in Business or Public Administration, Criminal Justice, Social Work/Social Services, or a related field.
