Responsible for the day-to-day management and supervision of all Healthy Babies (HB) Program services. This position works to meet the mission of the Sedgwick Co Health Dept by promoting the wellness of Sedg. Co. residents through the development and monitoring of policy and procedures ensuring the provision of high quality services including; outreach, needs and home assessments, health and safety education, advocacy, and linkage to medical and/or non-medical services for the purpose of improving birth outcomes.

The HB PM  plans, directs, and evaluates all aspects of the HB Program, including personnel and office management, purchasing, accounting, budget preparation, compliance with funding contracts, cultivating external partnerships, and grant writing. This position is responsible for reviewing office and field procedures, development and implementation of procedural improvements.

 

Program oversight to ensure grant compliance, including reports, budget development and management

  • Maintains oversight and coordination of HB client services including implementation of the Healthy Steps model and home/office visitation ensures monitoring and compliance with outcomes and objectives as set forth by grants.
  • Works with staff to establish priorities for client education.
  • Develops and participates in community outreach and education to recruit & retain HB clients.
  • Submits accurate data reports for department heads or other programs including BoCC.
  • Submits presentations as necessary, for department heads or other programs including BoCC.
  • Ensure that HB meets its quarterly strategic performance measures
  • Assures submission of all program budgets timely and accurately per related deadlines (BoCC agenda item, continuation grant) or within two weeks of budget change (reallocation of funding per salary savings and/or grantor approval)
  • Monthly review of expenses and expenditures to ensure that the program doesn’t budget exceed funding limits through review of SAP reports.

 

Personnel Management and Evaluation

  • Provide effective coaching/mentoring to Healthy Babies Supervisory staff
  • Promotes staff development and skill-building
  • Completes evaluation process according to County guidelines.
  • Ensures new staff have appropriate orientation and complete all required trainings
  • Oversees hiring of new staff
  • Review of staff evaluations written by HB supervisors

 

Promote awareness of Healthy Babies program planning and services with various stakeholders to promote awareness of Healthy Babies Program, Sedgwick County Division of Health, and community needs.

  • Nurture existing partnerships with medical and non-medical service providers
  • Develop new partnerships to help Healthy Babies meet client needs.
  • Promotes the program to partner agencies and individuals to make sure we are increasing enrollment of at-risk moms

 

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Public Health, Social Work, Nursing, Business Administration, or related field. Three years for experience in mid-level management, including direct project management Five years’ experience in progressively responsible and varied administrative work in a public or private organization, including supervisory experience or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Ability to manage a field nursing program and supervise staff. 

 

Preferred Qualifications: Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Public Health, Social Work, Nursing, Business Administration, or related field.
