Pay:  $22.74 per hour, plus Critical Pay of 10%, making the rate of pay $25.01. | This position may be eligible for a sign on bonus of $1,500 after 60 days of employment if selected applicant meets all policy conditions.  

Work Schedule: M-F 8-5, on-call rotation  


This is a working supervisor position. This individual must supervise and coordinate a crew consisting of but not limited to, technicians that primarily provide for the repair and maintenance of heating, cooling, ventilating, controls, plumbing, lighting and electrical systems in a number of County facilities.   Work performed by this group involves a wide range of peripheral equipment and systems.   Some members of this group will possess a variety of trade certificates and licenses including HVAC Technicians, plumbers and electricians.



  • Supervise and coordinate maintenance and repair activities.
  • Assign tasks to subordinates.
  • Directs subordinates on the proper work methods, worker safety, work scheduling and other issues as appropriate.
  • Assist maintenance and technical staff as needed when appropriate.
  • Monitor the work of staff periodically throughout the day.
  • Perform monitoring and evaluation of assigned subordinate employees.



  • Independently troubleshoot and repair HVAC/mechanical/control malfunctions in systems listed above.
  • Provide a schedule for preventative maintenance and repair of systems on assorted mechanical equipment.
  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks to keep systems and devices working properly and safely.   This will sometimes include working on “live” (energized) systems, circuits and devices with voltages of 480 VAC.
  • Diagnose, evaluate present condition and repair as necessary high and low pressure duct systems; including air handlers and related equipment.
  • Make needed modifications to gas supply lines as needed. (Not including welded lines.)



  • Monitor expenditures of purchase cards and shopping carts.
  • Order material for staff assignments


Minimum Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent/experience in HVAC, electrical and plumbing. Five plus years of experience. Journeyman Mechanical License/Refrigerant recovery certification, type I and type II and/or five years equivalent in trade experience.


Preferred Qualifications: Trade school for HVAC, plumbing or electrical/experience in HVAC, electrical and plumbing. Master or Journeyman Mechanical License/Refrigerant recovery certification, type I and type II.
