Completes notice process and drafts journal entries for Child in Need of Care (CINC) cases handled by the Office of the District Attorney.  Oversees and tracks service of notice by various methods.  Process and file CINC journal entries

 

Drafts CINC notice documents and prepares for mailing

  • Prioritizes cases for notice based on established criteria
  • Uses computer systems to generate appropriate notice documents
  • Verifies accuracy of all generated notices
  • Prepares notice and attachments for service
  • Delivers notice packets to clerk for service

 

Ensures CINC case party information is up to date so proper service of notice can be made

  • Researches various computer systems and reports to identify accurate contact information for CINC case parties.
  • Updates computer systems with the most accurate contact information

 

Prepare journal entries

  • Prioritize cases by hearing type and date
  • Review case activity sheets and associated documents
  • Draft journal entry according to established procedures and standards
  • Send draft to appropriate attorney for review
  • Make revisions as needed
  • Distribute journal entries to attorneys
  • Collect signatures/approvals of journal entries
  • Modify documents for electronic filing
  • Track journal entries throughout process
  • Electronically file journal entries with the court

 

Minimum Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent. Two years’ experience in varied clerical and secretarial work or any combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

 

Preferred Qualifications: Two years’ experience working in the criminal justice system.
