Program Manager RADxUP

This is a full-time, temporary position in the Sedgwick County Health Department for COVID-19 response. Grant funding for this position has been secured for a minimum of 12 months. The Program Manager RADxUP supervises a Community Health Worker who will help facilitate project activities in the community. The Program Manager will work with community members to identify or form and guide a local health equity action team to develop new COVID-19 testing strategies to reach the most vulnerable community members. The Program Manager RADxUP will work closely with nine other counties across the State of Kansas to improve access to testing. The Program Manager will be the primary liaison and contact and will coordinate project activities with University of Kansas Medical Center research staff. The Program Manager must be an effective communicator and must be viewed as a trusted resource to the community.

 

Form and guide a local health equity action team to develop new COVID-19 testing strategies

  • Identify key community members to participate in a local health equity action team
  • Serve as a point of contact for local health equity action team members
  • Coordinate team meetings to discuss new testing strategies
  • Coordinate team members to assist in being part of a COVID-19 KU learning collaborative with nine other counties
  • Facilitate virtual meetings with the local health equity action team and the COVID-19 KU learning collaborative
  • Facilitate reimbursement for local community members in consulting services

 

Coordinate needs assessments, surveys, and key informant interviews

  • Assist in overseeing the identification of community members to participate in the community needs assessment; qualitative interviews and quantitative surveys
  • Schedule interviews and assist in county level data collection
  • Distribute surveys and assist in survey completion

 

Serve as SCHD grant liaison to KU researchers and manage grant and supervise staff

  • Supervise and evaluate the performance of a community health worker
  • Oversee and guide implementation of COVID-19 testing strategies Develop professional relationships with community leaders and organizations
  • Document activities and complete standard reports for the research team Coordinate and communicate with the research team leads at the University of Kansas Medical Center
  • Assist in providing data for developing a community dashboard with performance measures
  • Work with and collaborate with Health Department staff and external partners

 

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in nursing, public health, education or other related field. One year of work experience in health department or healthcare setting. One year work experience with external community agencies. One year working or living in a multicultural setting. One year of work experience in health education. One year work experience in data analysis and/or data management.

 

Preferred Qualifications: Master of Public Health Degree or other Master’s degree in a health, business or related field. Two years of work experience in health education. One year experience working as a community health worker or health navigator. Two years of experience working or living in a multicultural setting. One year of supervisory work experience, including employee evaluations. Two years of work experience in data analysis and/or data management. One year of work experience in survey development. Completion of Community Health Worker training; Proficiency in English and a language other than English. Proficiency is demonstrated by passing a standardized test.
