Tax Foreclosure Clerk - COUNTY TREASURER

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm

Monitors and maintains tax foreclosure process by working with internal and external partners. Prepares and distributes various reports for tax team and maintains and balances financial transactions in tax system. Prepares financial and statistical statements, analyses, and reports.

 

Monitor and maintain Real Property Tax Foreclosure process  

  • Identify properties for tax foreclosure in accordance with statutory requirements
  • Prepare and mail notices to all affected property owners
  • Review selected properties with Tax Foreclosure Legal Team
  • Maintain foreclosure list throughout the foreclosure cycle
  • Run daily redemption reports to verify payments have been received
  • Communicate daily with Sheriff and Legal Team to ensure redeemed properties are removed from tax foreclosure cycle   
  • Work on developing map books and published list on Treasurer’s webpage
  • Verify eligible bidders for tax foreclosure auction

 

Balance and post daily online payments for real and personal property tax statements

  • Prepare reports for online payments
  • Coordinate with County bank to establish lockbox collection dates
  • Import files from County bank and posts payments made through lockbox into tax system
  • Check reports to ensure all payments are posted accurately
  • Distribute reports within tax accounting team

 

Oversee records storage and KORA requests

  • Manage records storage and KORA request for the Treasurer’s tax office
  • Coordinate with Records Manager and Freedom of Information Officer for scheduled records destruction
  • Report monthly number of requests to Records Manager and Freedom of Information Officer for BoCC

 

Minimum Qualifications: Two years of experience in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. Up to two years of experience (all) may be substituted with education that provides applicable knowledge and skills. One year of work experience in Customer Service, administrative services, or a related field.

 

Preferred Qualifications: Two years of experience in governmental accounting and fiscal operations. Associate's Degree from an Accredited College or University in Accounting or Finance.
