Responsible for executing COMCARE Community Mental Health Center (CMHC) and Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) training and staff development focused on building staff competency in the mental health field and increasing the patient experience. This position will participate in quality management and monitoring related activities to assess for trends and needs within the organization to determine appropriate areas of improvement for staff development.
Staff Development Activities
- Assists staff in the utilization of Relias learning management system, maintains accuracy of staff hierarchy and assists other human service divisions with uploading training courses
- Active in organizing and developing on-boarding of new staff
- Assures CCBHC-related competency-based trainings are completed by all staff
- Participates in Quality, Risk Management and Compliance activities
- Champion or participate in work groups aimed at improving organizational performance and patient experience of care
Training Development Activities
- Evaluate and discuss service utilization issues
- Develop training plans for all staff positions
- Conduct training needs assessments and analyzing data to drive training programming
- Design and deliver engaging content across multiple modalities (in-person, online, hybrid)
- Collaborating cross-functionally with clinical leaders, compliance, HR, and other training roles
- Utilizing learning management systems (e.g., Relias) and tracking completion
Consultation and Education
- Is available to Directors, supervisors, other COMCARE employees and business partners for review and discussion of educational needs and agency policy. Identifies and delivers trainings with internal and external customers
- Oversees the COMCARE student training program
- Translate clinical or compliance content into accessible learning
- Build relationships and influence across departments
Use data to evaluate outcomes and refine development strategies
Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work, Psychology or other Human Service Field. Two (2) years of experience in staff development, training coordination, or instructional design. Experience delivering and evaluating staff training programs and using learning management systems (LMS) and/or e-learning tools. Three (3) years of experience in a physical or behavioral health setting with progressive responsibility or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Knowledge of quality improvement principles and regulatory compliance as well as an ability to understand and apply applicable state and federal regulations relevant to mental health, substance abuse, HIPAA and corporate compliance. Knowledge and experience with collaborative leadership and working within teams, as well as, across and up/down an organization is required. Must be licensed by the Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board as an LMSW, LMFT, LMLP, LPC, or LP. Per Sedgwick County policy, this is a driving level position that requires a valid US driver’s license without restrictions and current proof of automobile insurance. Must have access to personal passenger vehicle to complete the driving duties of the position. Meet the specifications as outlined in the CMHC/CCBHC licensing standards and pass KBI, DCF child abuse check, DCF adult abuse registry, KDADS Nurse Aide and Criminal Record check, National Sex Offender Registry check, and motor vehicle screens. Must complete orientations provided by Sedgwick County and COMCARE.
Preferred Qualifications: May be clinically licensed by the Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board as an LCP or LCPC, LCMFT, or LSCSW.
