The HR IT Project Manager/Liaison is responsible for leading and coordinating projects that support the technological needs of the Division of Human Resources. This role serves to coordinate the Division of Human Resources, the Division of Information and Technology/ERP, and external vendors. Key responsibilities include managing project timelines and deliverables, translating HR’s needs and requirements to IT/ERP staff and vendors, and in turn providing information back to HR from ERP and vendors. This position exercises strong project management skills, a solid understanding of HR systems and needs, and the ability to communicate effectively across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Project Management & Implementation
- Works closely with HR leadership to identify technological needs and develop a long-term strategic overview of how to address these needs.
- Leads planning and execution of HR technology projects.
- Fosters and leads teams of stakeholders from different backgrounds and expertise
- Defines project scope, goals, timelines, milestones, and deliverables in collaboration with HR and IT/ERP stakeholders.
- Develops and maintains project plans, work logs, status reports, and other project documentation to ensure that projects stay on task and goals are met.
HR-IT Liaison & Stakeholder Engagement
- Participates in regular meetings with ERP and vendors.
- Holds project team members accountable for completing assigned projects and milestones.
- Translates HR functional requirements for IT/ERP teams and vendors. Partners with stakeholders to assess requirements and decide whether standard application features or custom development provide the best solution.
- Engages in continuous dialogue with ERP and external vendors and provides reports back to HR regarding progress, issues, or concerns with project requirements.
- Collaborates with external vendors to ensure quality, compliance, and timely delivery of services and solutions by maintaining documentation of issues and following up on status to ensure all requests are seen through to completion.
- Utilizes technology testing strategies, including User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and Business Acceptance Testing (BAT), to support planning, execution, and validation of results.
- Takes the lead in change management, identifying who is impacted by changes in technology/systems and developing communications which articulate those changes.
Other duties
- Participates in RFP processes for prospective technology solutions for HR needs.
- Organizes and calendars out HR system activities, ensuring that all necessary updates, status checks, and annual items are implemented by assigned deadlines.
- Creates and maintains repository of SOPs and coordinates with the relevant HR staff to ensure their processes have up-to-date documentation.
Minimum Qualifications: Two (2) years of experience supporting HRIS or enterprise-wide projects or IT related project management experience.
Preferred Qualifications: Two (2) years HCM or ERP experience. One year of enterprise-wide change management experience.
