This position coordinates the training functions of the Sedgwick County Division of Human Resources in support of all Sedgwick County employees. The Training Coordinator manages the administrative and logistical aspects of Countywide training initiatives, including scheduling, registration, communication, and system management within the Learning Management System (LMS). This role ensures training sessions, including New Employee Orientation, onboarding programs, and other Countywide learning opportunities, are organized and delivered efficiently by supporting the Training Director and facilitators, maintaining accurate records, and coordinating with departments and HR leadership. In addition, the Training Coordinator supports initiatives that promote employee engagement and development by ensuring training resources, schedules, and related information are accessible and well organized across the organization.

 

Learning Systems Administration and Reporting

 

  • Manage and maintain Sedgwick County and vendor courses, learning pathways, records, reporting, and compliance tracking in the SAP SuccessFactors Learning Management System (LMS); coordinate LMS updates with IT; serve as liaison with County departments and ERP on LMS questions, issues, and updates; and compile LMS data, statistics, and reports to support HR leadership, departments, training initiatives, and course promotion efforts.

 

New Employee Orientation and Onboarding Coordination and Support

 

  • Coordinate and support weekly New Employee Orientation, including scheduling, room setup, materials preparation, and collaboration with HR staff and the Clerk’s Office; maintain orientation materials, new hire folders, and process documentation; support onboarding process updates with HR and recruitment staff; provide administrative support for onboarding and engagement initiatives for employees during their first two years; and cross-train with the Recruitment Specialist to assist with recruitment activities, candidate sourcing, and HR system utilization as needed.

 

Training Development and Facilitation

 

  • Assist the Training Director in coordinating the annual Countywide training calendar and training initiatives in collaboration with County departments and HR; support scheduling, logistics, setup, materials, equipment, and on-site coordination for training sessions; assist with training needs analyses by gathering documentation and input from HR colleagues and departments; support bids, proposals, vendor communications, contracts, and other administrative requirements for vendor-provided training programs in coordination with the Purchasing Department; and monitor and maintain records related to the learning library contract and Kansas Learning Center grant application.

 

Minimum Qualifications: Two (2) years of progressively responsible experience in Human Resources, training administration, office coordination, or closely related experience. One (1) year demonstrated experience coordinating programs, maintaining records, or managing schedules or logistics. Per Sedgwick County Policy, this is a driving level position that requires a valid US driver’s license without restrictions and current proof of automobile insurance.  Must have access to a personal passenger vehicle to complete the driving duties of the position.

 

Preferred Qualifications: Experience managing learning or HR systems (e.g., Learning Management Systems, HRIS) and supporting end users. Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, Business, or a related field. Human Resources certification such as PSHRA-CP, SHRM-CP, PHR, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR. Training experience with online training tools including Zoom, Microsoft Teams or WebEx.
