This is a temporary, grant-funded position through June 30, 2027. The Part-time Community Engagement Assistant provides community outreach and administrative support for Community Health Improvement Plan activities, aligning with the Sedgwick County Health Department’s mission to prevent disease and promote wellness. The Assistant performs office administrative tasks such as meeting coordination, note-taking, email correspondence, and inventory management. The Assistant prepares for and attends indoor and outdoor events, activities, and meetings to engage with residents and community organizations. The Assistant performs data entry and assists with report writing and data collection and analysis.

 

 

Provide Administrative Support for the Community Health Improvement Plan and Pathways to a Healthy Kansas grant

  • Coordinate on-site and off-site meetings and focus groups with community organizations and community members
  • Manage supply and sign inventory check-in/check-out
  • Coordinate incentive distribution to meeting attendees per grant and Sedgwick County policies
  • Assist with the coordination of food purchases for meetings per grant and Sedgwick County policies
  • Manage email inboxes and monitor and respond to requests from community organizations and community members
  • Assist with presentation preparation
  • Identify opportunities for improvement to procedures and workflows and suggest changes

 

Provide Community Engagement and Outreach Support

  • Set up and attend on-site and off-site meetings, focus groups, training, and outreach events and activities in Sedgwick County
  • Document meetings and provide meeting agendas and minutes to attendees
  • Assist with the marketing of meetings and distribution of marketing materials
  • Contact community organizations to gather information related to services and distribute CHIP information

 

Document CHIP-related Activities

  • Perform data entry of CHIP-related activities into databases. Ensure activities are kept up to date.
  • Maintain up-to-date community organization contact information in database
  • Document incentive distribution
  • Assist with coordination of website information
  • Assist with data collection and data analysis of focus groups and surveys
  • Assist with report writing

 

 

Minimum Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent. One year of customer service work experience. One year of experience performing administrative office tasks such as coordination of meetings, note taking, data entry, and inventory tracking. One year of experience with email, spreadsheet, and presentation applications, such as Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint. Per Sedgwick County policy, this is a driving level position that requires a valid US driver’s license without restrictions and current proof of automobile insurance.

 

Preferred Qualifications: One year of work experience analyzing data. One year of experience working on projects with multiple community agencies. Proficiency in English and a language other than English; proficiency is demonstrated by passing a standardized test.
