The Interoffice Courier provides daily transportation of documents, paperwork, and materials between Sedgwick County Tag offices. This position ensures that work processed at satellite locations is securely collected, delivered, and returned to the Douglas Tag Office for final processing by bookkeeping staff. The Courier operates a county vehicle and maintains accurate handling of documents to support efficient office operations.
Courier and Mail Route Operations
- Travel to designated satellite tag office locations to pick up work processed the previous day and deliver documents for clerks to prepare between scheduled customer appointments.
- Ensure timely and accurate delivery of documents to and from the Douglas Tag Office for final processing by bookkeeping staff.
- Maintain organized handling and transport of all documents, files, and materials.
- Verify that all materials collected and delivered are accounted for and transferred to appropriate staff
- Deliver mail and other supplies to satellite locations when needed.
Document Handling and Administrative Support
- Assist with sorting, organizing, and preparing documents for transport between locations.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of all county and customer documents while in transit.
- Communicate with office staff regarding pickups, deliveries, and any issues encountered along the route.
Vehicle Operation and Safety
- Operate a county vehicle to complete daily courier routes between tag office locations.
- Follow all county vehicle use policies and traffic laws.
- Maintain cleanliness and general condition of the assigned vehicle and report maintenance issues promptly.
Minimum Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent. Per Sedgwick County Policy, this is a driving level position that requires a valid US driver’s license without restrictions and current proof of automobile insurance.
Preferred Qualifications: Previous courier, delivery, or administrative support experience.
